Fifth Annual Mechatronic Blue and Gold Football Game
|Start:||4/19/2013 at 7:00PM|
|End:||4/19/2013 at 9:35PM|
|Location:||Stepan Center, University of Notre Dame|
Join the University of Notre Dame, Indiana University-Purdue University at Ft. Wayne, and Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis for a gridiron fight you'll never forget!
This year Notre Dame engineering students are joined by engineering students from other universities for intercollegiate play. The mechanical athletes they have designed and built include linemen, running backs, wide receivers, quarterbacks, and kickers. The technical challenges of designing and building these semi-autonomous ibots deepen students' understanding of, and ability to implement, engineering principles. The students will use the skills they acquired during the project in their careers as engineers, applying the same principles to develop, among other things, intelligent prostheses, biomedical devices, and electromechanical systems in general.
The campus and the public are invited.
