DESCRIPTION:In this installment of the Edison Lecture Series\, Nichola
 s J. Altiero\, who served as Dean of Engineering at Tulane University 
 prior to Hurricane Katrina and has served as Dean of Science and Engin
 eering since the reorganization of the university following Katrina\, 
 will discuss the challenges that Tulane faced following the storm and 
 its horrific aftermath and how that event has reshaped the institution
  and its relationship to the city of New Orleans. In particular\, he w
 ill address the re-thinking of science and engineering education at Tu
 lane in context of the university’s post-storm Plan for  Renewal.\
