Students Working in Fitzpatrick HallEngineering affects every aspect of daily life: food, energy, medicine, the environment, personal and national security, and transportation. Because of that and in accordance with our mission, the engineering program at Notre Dame offers each student an education that is highly technical yet grounded in the Catholic faith. Graduates of our programs are extremely capable and competent in their particular fields, yet they also understand how their work impacts humanity. They study philosophy and theology alongside their core engineering requirements and develop a deep sense of the world and how engineers can use their expertise to make it a better place. Finally, they leave this University and this program better able to take on leadership positions in a variety of fields and better able to make an impact on their communities.
