The Notre Dame College of Engineering is pleased to announce the Fall 2025 recipients of the Staff Excellence Awards, which recognize staff members’ exemplary contributions above and beyond the scope of their standard job responsibilities.
Award recipients are honored for having a substantial positive impact on the operations of their departments, the College, and the University, helping to elevate Notre Dame Engineering as we strive to build a better world for all.
We are pleased to recognize the following Fall 2025 award recipients:
Aaron Burdin – Dean’s Office
For his exceptional leadership of the Staff Engagement & Culture Committee; his empathetic and dedicated support of undergraduate students; and his consistent willingness to go above and beyond his role to help colleagues and ensure the success of college-wide initiatives.
Angie Lundberg – Dean’s Office
For her expert management of high-impact events; her meticulous attention to detail and drive for continual improvement; and her creative, reliable support that consistently elevates experiences for colleagues, students, and guests alike.
Mike Sanders – Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering (AME)
For his outstanding craftsmanship in producing complex lab models; his mentorship and support of students; and his unwavering commitment to running the machine shop — delivering top-quality work, meeting tight deadlines, and strengthening the entire research community with his expertise and positivity.
Daniel Solis Carrillo – Engineering Innovation Hub (EIH)
For his exemplary skill in guiding thousands of students through safe, hands-on fabrication; his patient mentorship that builds industry-ready competencies; and his generous dedication to supporting projects, from course assignments to ambitious personal builds, with care and curiosity.
