Todd Taylor, associate teaching professor, director of Summer International Engineering and associate director of the Integrated Engineering and Business Practices Program, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Catherine F. Pieronek Women in Engineering Impact Award.
The annual award honors a faculty or staff member in the Notre Dame College of Engineering “who has made a dramatic positive impact on women’s engineering experience” through teaching and mentoring; service and support; and advocacy for women in engineering.
Award recipients are selected based on feedback from women graduate and undergraduate students in engineering.
One student commented, “I can’t think of anyone who deserves this award more. Every student I meet who took his courses has felt valued, important, and determined to be successful.” Others mentioned Taylor’s industry and international experience, describing him as “the best ally a woman in engineering could ask for as far as career advice, emotional support, and understanding.”

The award honors the memory of Catherine F. Pieronek, associate dean for academic affairs in the College of Engineering, who pioneered and was Notre Dame’s first director of Women in Engineering.
The award presentation will take place at the Louisville versus Notre Dame women’s basketball game on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Purcell Pavilion on Notre Dame’s campus.
