Since 2021, Notre Dame Engineering has welcomed nearly 40 faculty at all ranks. We continue to grow, and we invite applications for the following positions.

We are especially interested in candidates whose diverse backgrounds and excellence will enrich our academic community through research, teaching, and practice.

Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering

Tenure-Track Position: Seeking tenure-track candidates in all areas of aerospace and mechanical engineering. The department particularly encourages applications from individuals who would complement and bridge strengths in these research pillars: bioengineering; computational engineering; fluid mechanics; materials, energy and manufacturing; and robotics and controls.

Tenure-Track Position: Seeking tenured or tenure-track candidates with research interests in areas including but not limited to energy and sustainability, human health, and emerging applications of data science.

Tenure-Track Position: Seeking tenure-track candidates who specialize in, but are not restricted to, smart environmental systems (e.g., sensors), advanced materials for environmental applications (e.g., membranes, catalysts), carbon capture and storage, resource recovery and reuse, green infrastructure, advanced computational tools (e.g., machine learning, artificial intelligence), environmental risk, or air quality.

Computer Science and Engineering

Tenure-Track Position: Seeking tenure-track candidates at any rank in the systems area, including, but not limited to, Cyber-Physical Systems and Internet of Things. Outstanding candidates in other areas of computer science and engineering may be reviewed, especially those pursuing research in the areas of artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction that intersect with the cyber-physical systems area.

Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor: Seeking non-tenure-track candidates to teach introductory Computer Science and Engineering courses to both majors and non-majors, along with core courses such as Discrete Math, Theory of Computing, Algorithms, or Programming Paradigms.

Teaching Professor: Seeking applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position to support instruction in the First-Year Engineering Program. Primary responsibilities include: teaching introductory engineering design and computing courses; supporting coordination of the First-Year Engineering course sequence; supporting engineering student recruitment; and coordinating pre-college summer programming.
