The official “Withdrawal from the University” Policy may be found in the Undergraduate Academic Code. The following information is provided to assist students who are considering withdrawing from the University of Notre Dame.
- Students should contact their College of Engineering Advisor or DUS to discuss the process and implications of this decision, as well as meeting with the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Academic Affairs .
- Visit with the Time Away Coordinators as soon as possible. Please contact timeaway@nd.edu to schedule an appointment.
- Your Time Away Coordinators are a team of caring experts who will serve as your single point of contact for leaving and returning to the University. They will assist you with questions regarding your leave, support for a plan during your time away from the University, and direction as you navigate your return to Notre Dame.
- You must obtain the appropriate approvals to avoid receiving failing grades in your classes and ensure the correct adjustments to your student account.
- Accordingly, do not make plans to depart from campus until you have scheduled and attended any required appointments.
- Withdrawals are recorded on a student’s academic transcript, with the exception of a separation between semesters.
