Open Faculty Positions

Since 2021, Notre Dame Engineering has welcomed over 42 faculty at all ranks. We continue to grow, and we invite applications for the following positions.

We are especially interested in candidates whose unique backgrounds and excellence will enrich our academic community through research, teaching, and practice.

Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering

Tenured, senior-level positions: Seeking candidates for two tenured, senior-level faculty positions (Associate/Full Professor). All areas of aerospace and mechanical engineering will be considered, but individuals working in experimental aerospace engineering and robotics or controls are particularly encouraged to apply. Qualified candidates with demonstrated leadership capabilities will be considered for endowed positions. 

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

Tenure-track position: Seeking candidates for a tenure-track assistant professor position. All areas of chemical engineering will be considered, but individuals working in the department’s priority areas of health, energy, and sustainability are particularly encouraged to apply. 

Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences

Tenured, senior-level position: Seeking candidates for a tenured, senior-level position (Associate/Full Professor) in innovative construction engineering. Candidates with interest in participating in campus-wide collaborative efforts that include the Fitzgerald Real Estate Institute, the Environmental Change Initiative, the Scientific Artificial Intelligence Initiative and the Just Transformations to Sustainability Initiative are particularly encouraged to apply. Qualified candidates with demonstrated leadership capabilities will be considered for endowed positions.

Computer Science and Engineering

Tenure-track position: Seeking candidates for a tenure-track position at any rank (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor). All areas of computer science will be considered, but individuals working in computer vision, software systems for robotics, and quantum computing are particularly encouraged to apply.

Electrical Engineering

Tenure-track position: Seeking candidates for a tenure-track position at any rank (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor). All areas of electrical engineering will be considered, but individuals working in mathematical foundations of learning-enabled systems, autonomous decision and control, communications, information theory, signal, and/or image processing are particularly encouraged to apply.
